Beast Academy Guide 3D and its companion Practice 3D are the fourth part in a four-part series for students ages 9–10, grade 3. Level 3D includes chapters on fractions, estimation, and area.

Overview

Beast Academy is the new elementary-school math curriculum from Art of Problem Solving. Beast Academy provides a full, rigorous, and entertaining curriculum for aspiring math beasts ages 8–13. The series consists of four two-book sets for each level. The Guide book of each set presents the lessons and the Practice book provides exercises and problems to reinforce the lessons.

Beast Academy 3D is the fourth set in the four-set series for Level 3. Guide 3D delivers complete lessons to the students of Beast Academy in an engaging comic-book style. The companion book, Practice 3D, provides over 400 problems ranging from introductory level exercises to very challenging puzzles and word problems to reinforce the lessons in the Guide.

Beast Academy 3D covers the following topics:

Fractions: Unit fractions, fractions on the number line, mixed numbers, equivalent fractions, parts of a whole, comparing and ordering fractions, simplifying fractions.
Estimation: Rounding, computing estimates, over and underestimating, eyeball estimates, Fermi problems.
